Matt Ferguson joined Designed Conveyor Systems in 2015 and has served as the President since 2018. He leads the company with his 15+ years of industrial automation experience and intense focus on the experience we provide for our clients and employees.

Our clients’ success and a positive experience for our team members drive Matt and his leadership team to build a company that delivers results for all.

When asked to describe his time with DCS, he stated, “I came to DCS to be a part of building a great place to work so we can help our clients meet whatever commitments they’ve made to theirs. Business is tough, and we spend so much time together. Why not focus on the experience we all have while working?”

Matt received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Clemson University and began his career as an electrical and controls engineer for a systems integrator specializing in material handling and process automation. He has since grown through progressive roles within system integration, including project management, sales, and leadership.

Outside of the office, you can find him spending time with his wife of nearly 20 years and six children.

Seth Taylor serves as the Executive Vice President of Operations for Designed Conveyor Systems and leads his team with nearly 25 years of experience in the material handling industry.

Seth oversees the entire operations team of DCS, which includes all project delivery and support efforts.

When asked why he stays at DCS, he stated, “The company sponsors my efforts, and that is of great value to me.” He continued, “I am extremely grateful for the company’s inclusive and encouraging culture. I feel valued and believe that I can continue to grow as DCS grows.”

In 2020, Seth received his Master of Business Administration from LSU Shreveport. Before that, he received his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University and began his career as a project manager with DCS in 1998. He went on to pursue other roles and opportunities that would eventually lead him back to DCS as the Vice President of Solutions and later transitioning to the Vice President of Operations then Executive Vice President of Operations.

Seth grew up in Indiana and has played soccer his entire life. When he is not in the office, he enjoys spending time with his wife, three children, and his dog.

Curt Kincaid serves as the Executive Vice President of Solutions and Growth for Designed Conveyor Systems and leads his team with 20+ years of experience in material handling solutions.

Curt’s responsibilities include steering the DCS team to develop optimal solutions that meet the customer’s needs. This process includes consultation and result-driven recommendations to improve customer’s operations and proposed material handling system designs.

When asked what excites him about DCS, Curt touched upon the positive company culture and the opportunity to be part of a growing company that has continued to grow since he joined.

He received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Prior to joining DCS, he worked as a solutions engineer/manager with large 3PLs, supply chain consulting, and managed facilities as a maintenance operations manager. This time in his career gave him a unique experience as an end-user to understand the importance of how to design a solution that serves a customer’s operational needs.

Curt grew up in Decatur, Alabama before relocating to Spring Hill, TN with his wife and two kids. In his free time, he enjoys working on his 1966 Mustang and playing golf.

Curtis Jefferson serves as the Vice President of Sales of Designed Conveyor Systems and leads his team with passion and over 18 years of experience in the material handling industry.

Curtis uses his experience and knowledge to cast vision for the company and employees while supporting his team to create responsible growth for the company.

When asked what he enjoys most about DCS, he stated, “Working for a company that values their people and culture all while providing great solutions to the customers.”

Curtis received his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and immediately began his career in the material handling industry. He has since served in many roles including, supply chain management, systems engineering, and business development and sales.

He grew up in Georgia and currently resides north of Atlanta, GA. Outside of the office, you can find him spending time with his family and pets in the great outdoors!

Meg Culler Smith serves as the Vice President of Engineering for Designed Conveyor Systems.

With nearly 20 years with DCS, Meg is a crucial part of the team. She leads the DCS team of engineers who take the customer’s needs and turn them into reality through detailed validation and design.

When asked to describe her experience with DCS, she stated, “It’s become my family, and I feel proud to be a part of a company that challenges myself and others to become better professionally and personally.”

Meg received her Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and began her career in 2003 as a Project Manager with DCS. During her time with DCS, she has led the PM group, worked in Business Improvement, and now leads the Engineering Team.

Meg is originally from South Carolina but has lived in Nashville for nearly 20 years now. She is passionate about cooking and nearly every outdoor activity, so you can often find her running, biking, or camping with her husband!

Corey Fager serves as the Vice President of Finance for Designed Conveyor Systems and has been with the company for nearly a decade. 

Corey manages the DCS internal finance team and all accounting operations of the company. He is responsible for monitoring the company cash flow, project financial reporting, and overall corporate financial reporting.

Corey worked in public accounting prior to joining the DCS team, and actually had DCS as a client. He states, “Culture brought me here. Culture and my DCS coworkers (including leadership) keep me here.”

He received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Middle Tennessee State University and became a CPA in 2007.

He grew up outside of Detroit, but he has called Tennessee “home” since 1991. In his spare time, Corey enjoys participating in Tough Mudders and spending time with his wife and two sons.

Julie Dennie serves as the Vice President of People and Culture for Designed Conveyor Systems and leads with great passion and enthusiasm.

In her role, she is always striving to make DCS the best place to work in Middle Tennessee and ensures the culture at DCS is strong, the company’s decisions reflect the values of DCS, and the people are valued and supported.

When asked about her experience with DCS, she stated, “DCS is really committed to People and Culture. People that work at DCS value the company’s culture and want to be a part of something impactful- it’s not just a job to them.”

She received her Bachelor of Arts in English and Anthropology and then went on to receive her Master of Education from Notre Dame and began her career in teaching. She later found her passion in the People and Culture space by starting in talent acquisition and expanding into employee engagement and human resources.

Julie enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and two daughters, and she is passionate about traveling, reading, and spending time outdoors being active.

Brian Curran serves as the Vice President of Software and brings over ten years of experience in the Material Handling industry.

Brian provides vision and leadership in Software Research and Development and delivery at DCS. He leverages his extensive experience in Software Architecture, Development, Quality Assurance, and best practices in Agile, Lean Six Sigma, and DevOps to deliver optimal solutions and value to our customers.

When asked what attracted him to DCS, he replied: “What first attracted me to DCS was the quality of the people and the emphasis on culture. I enjoy working for a company that truly values its employees in both their professional development and personal wellbeing. DCS additionally has a commitment to excellence and professionalism with a relentless focus on delivering value to customers. These are all important attributes of a quality organization that resonate with me and made me want to jump on board to be a part of it.”

Brian started his career as a Software Developer working in the field of high-precision scientific instrumentation, developing software products to execute scientific experiments and perform data analytics. He entered the distribution industry in 2011, working in progressive roles as a developer and leader in Software Research and Development and customer project delivery.

Brian grew up in the Philadelphia area, where he still resides. He received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife Sherrie and their four children, working on home projects and learning new things- both technical and non-technical.

Matt Greene serves as the Vice President of Life Cycle for Designed Conveyor Systems.

Matt brings over five years of experience in the Material Handling Industry. Matt helps lead a team dedicated to ensuring operations run smoothly for DCS’s partners through maintenance, training, 24/7 support, and life cycle projects.

When asked what attracted him to DCS, he replied: “DCS has built- and continues to grow- a team of people who genuinely want to work hard together. The teamwork-centric attitude is infectious, and everyone seems to win.”

Before entering the Material Handling industry, Matt served eight years as a Naval Officer, filling roles for technical training and ensuring uptime of critical infrastructure on aircraft carriers, including nuclear reactors, electrical distribution systems, and auxiliary engineering equipment. Matt received his Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Engineering and his MBA from The University of Florida. Matt also has PMP and Lean Six Sigma certifications.

Outside of work, Matt enjoys carpentry, running, and open water swimming. He lives in Atlanta, Georgia, with his wife and three kids, where they are trying to raise third-generation competitive swimmers.

Todd Jones serves as the Vice President of Project Delivery for DCS and brings over 15 years of experience in Material Handling.

Todd provides leadership and coaching to the Project and Site Management teams. He also ensures the continuation of DCS’s history of delivering projects on time with satisfied customers.

When asked what attracted him most to DCS, he replied: “I joined DCS for the opportunity to contribute to a fast-growing, forward-looking company. To me, the opportunity to join DCS was more than a job; it was an opportunity to join a family that values its people and has a culture of inclusion and collaboration.”

Prior to joining DCS, Todd worked as a Project Director, where his primary focus was managing and governing large complex distribution design and implementation programs. Todd received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Tennessee and his MBA from Carson Newman University. He is also certified in Lean Six Sigma and Project Management Professional.

Todd has spent the last 22 years living in Atlanta, Georgia. When he is not working, he enjoys scuba diving, hiking, and cooking with his family.

Jeremy Davidson serves Designed Conveyor Systems as the Senior Director of Sales, Distribution & Fulfillment. He brings 28 years of experience in the Material Handling Industry.

Jeremy leads a team of experienced account management and sales professionals. His team exists to build and develop partnerships in target clients that are motivated to embark on the change management journey into automation. This requires working to better understand the operational issues our clients face and develop a case for change and business case to solve their complex distribution challenges to create competitive advantages in their industry.

Jeremy uses his extensive experience in Operations, IT, Engineering, and Consulting in implementing automation. He works to understand all of the current industry issues and trends and build delivery teams to bring solutions to clients.

When asked what attracted him to DCS and what makes him stay, he replied, “DCS values and family culture is incredible and what I find missing in this industry. At DCS, we know how to be excellent in this business and at the core, its people operating with humility and serving our clients.”

Jeremy earned his B.S. in Marketing and Logistics from the University of Tennessee and a certification in Finance/Business from the University of Chicago. He also holds a Procurement Certification from Penn State and a Supply Chain Certification from Ohio State. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and community, preferably in the outdoors or traveling. He lives in the greater Nashville area.

Emmanuel Clottey serves as the Director of Project Management and has 25 years of experience in the Material Handling Industry.

Emmanuel manages the Project Management team, where he communicates with project managers and works to address any issues impacting projects. He also engages in operational and strategic discussions for the department to plan for future initiatives and resource needs.

When asked what attracted him most to DCS, he replied: “The strong culture at DCS is unique in all my previous work experiences. The way everyone is intentional about showing grace in every situation, even when the situation is not so pleasant, is very different.”

Emmanuel received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Computer Science before earning his Master’s in Business Administration and Project Management. He is also certified in Project Management and completed Lean Six Sigma training in Green and Black belts. Emmanuel has served in different Material Handling positions such as Warehouse Manager, Distribution Center Manager, and Senior Project Manager.

Outside of work, Emmanuel enjoys playing golf, tennis, basketball, and soccer. He is married and has two kids, a daughter, and a son. He was born in Ghana, West Africa, and has been in the U.S. for over 25 years.

Brian Niccum serves DCS as the Director of Site Management. He has been with DCS since 2017 and has over 20 years of experience in the Material Handling Industry.

Brian assists Site Managers with escalation points daily to continue project progress towards completion and stay on schedule. In addition, he works to develop policies and procedures for our growing site management team and works closely with leadership on current and future challenges within the industry.

When asked what attracted him to DCS, he said: “I was attracted to DCS due to the culture that was presented to me during the interview process; a smaller company with a family feel but striving for internal and industry growth. Support from leadership when getting what I need for the Site Management department has been a contributing factor to why I am a DCS cheerleader!”

Prior to joining DCS, Brian worked in Baggage and Material Handling conveyor installation. Brian has experience in project management and site management in both baggage handling and material handling systems and has also worked in baggage handling operations and maintenance.

Brian currently lives in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, with his family and 3 Bulldogs. In his free time, he loves to golf, try new food, and watch the Carolina Panthers.

Mark Kidwell serves as the Director of Supply Chain Consulting for Designed Conveyor Systems.

With over 35 years in the material handling industry, he is able to provide valuable solutions for our clients regarding operations and process improvement, labor efficiency, DC design, and inventory management consultation.

When asked what he enjoys most about DCS, he stated, “The culture and the dedication to do things ‘the right way.’ This makes it easy to enjoy the work and be excited about being part of this team.”

Mark received his Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Lipscomb University and moved into operations and engineering management before supply chain consulting.

In his free time, he enjoys attending sporting events, fishing, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Bill DeYoung serves as the Customer Service Manager for Designed Conveyor Systems and brings to the team over a decade of experience in the material handling industry.

His role is to lead the Customer Service team to provide world-class support to the DCS customers. This support includes training on the system, providing on-site and remote support, providing recommendations, and supply of spare parts to ensure the system operates as it is designed.

When asked what attracted him to DCS, he stated, “As I had a chance to get to know the company, I fell in love with the culture and people. They make the real difference and are the reason I find it exciting to go to work every day.”

Bill served in the Marine Corps before receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology and his Master’s Degree in Strategic Business Management from Davenport University. He then pursued roles in customer service, sales, test facility management, and project management.

When Bill is not in the office, you can find him spending time with his three sons who enjoy exploring nature, especially the mountains. He always enjoys reading, biking, camping, and roasting coffee in his free time.
