KaVo Kerr, a leading global dental equipment manufacturer, specializes in dental pastes, gels, and supplies. With multiple manufacturing plants and distribution centers across North America, the company experienced significant growth — both organic and through acquisitions. This prompted a need to optimize its distribution network for improved efficiency and customer service.
Project Background
KaVo Kerr operated five distribution centers serving U.S. and international markets. To boost productivity, enhance order fulfillment, and reduce costs, the company decided to consolidate these into a single, advanced facility near Pomona, Calif. The company engaged DCS to provide supply chain engineering expertise for designing an efficient, scalable distribution center.
Project Objectives
- Consolidation: Merge five distribution centers into one optimized facility.
